Publish and undo
How changes reach your site, how to check them first, and how to take them back.
- Changes save as you type, as drafts. Nothing reaches your site until you publish.
- Open Publish. It lists every change waiting, with who made it and when. Press Check my changes to build and check your site.
- Untick anything that should wait. It stays saved for the next publish.
- If something must be fixed first, Publish says what and links straight to it.
- Press Publish. You see Building, Checking and Live. Your site shows the old version until the switch, then the new one.
Undo
- Press Undo this publish to put the last version back. Your changes are kept and wait for your next publish.
- In Publish history, press Put this version back live on any earlier version. It shows what will change back before you confirm.
- Nothing in Publish history is ever deleted.
If you see
- Not published. Your site has not changed. The switch did not go through. Your changes are safe. Press Try again.
- Who checked it? A change to clinical text, such as downtime or aftercare, asks who checked it. The name is kept with the publish. It does not stop the publish.
- Automatic update in Publish history. Something dated left your site on time, such as an offer after its closing date. Nothing else changed.
History and Publish history
- On a treatment or a page, press History. It lists every saved version, newest first: who saved it, when, and which fields changed. The draft and the live version are marked.
- Press Restore this version on an older one. This becomes your draft. Publish puts it live. The draft you had stays in the list.
- Press Put this version back live on any earlier release. It shows what will change back before you confirm. A put-back is a new release; nothing is deleted.
- Who checked these changes? is asked at each publish that changed clinical text (downtime, risks, aftercare, not suitable, consultation): choose a team member or Someone else with a typed name. You can publish without an answer.
- A version made with older site code is marked; every field is checked again when you restore it.
